San José de Gracia Convent

This is an historic building in a neoclassical style built in the 16th century and located in the center of Orizaba. Built by Franciscan monks, it functioned as a convent from 1797 until 1860 and closed its doors due to the Laws of Reform. Currently it is open to the public for 20-minute visits, during which you can see tunnels, a church, the Templo de la Soledad, paintings, and old furniture.
