An hour away is the Sierra de Zongolica, where delicious coffee is produced. Ask about the nearby municipality of Tequila, where the Sótano de Popocatl is found, a 197-foot-tall underground waterfall. You can practice rappelling here, and admire the rising air that looks like smoke, giving it the name of Popocatl, which means “smoking water” in Nahuatl.
Useful Information
We recommend you visit the Cueva de Totomochapa, also in Zongolica, where you can put on a clay face mask. (Ideally, hire a guide.)
