Feast Day of the Holy Christ

On the first days of August the Santo Cristo Chapel Festival takes place. Year after year this festival brings people together, not just from Candela but from other municipalities, who spend a few days in this Magical Town.   

As a part of the celebrations there is a traditional horse riding event, the Tradicional Cabalgata, the Gran Matlachinada (a traditional dance) and a Gran Baile (Great Dance), accompanied by banda music.  

Cultural events and dances are organized around the festival of Santo Cristo. Make sure to visit the Corredor Turístico.
