Holy Week in Candela
Visiting Candela during Semana Santa (Holy Week) is a good idea because of the festivities that take place here.
Combined with the religious celebrations, there is a Cabalgata Carrancista (horse riding event) which departs from the Ejido San Pedro. Besides, there are races, a carnival, callejoneadas (journeys through the city on foot with music and drinks), and a variety of concerts in the square in front of the church dedicated to San Carlos Borromeo.
During Holy Week, they also celebrate the anniversary of the founding of Candela, resulting in a very joyful and festive atmosphere.
