The Old Model School

The Old Model School, a Porfirio-era school in a neo-classical style, was built to replicate the French style of education at the beginning of the 20th century. The children of Mineral de Pozos’ inhabitants attended this school, as well as the mine workers’ children. It offered classes in gold and silversmith skills, violin making, and saddlery.

In its day, it was considered one of the state’s best schools.
