Convent Museum

Museo del Ex Convento Agustino

This museum is divided into four halls; the first is dedicated to the building’s history and exhibits old photographs, the second houses a collection of sacred art pieces, the third is a Viceroyalty art museum, and the last is reserved for temporary exhibitions. You must go up to the terrace to see the garden, which used to be the convent’s vegetable garden. From here you can see two of the three hundred-year-old ahuehuetes (Mexican conifer trees) that form a part of the town’s coat of arms, as well as the Laguna de Yuriria stretching out into the distance.
