Visit El Llanito

El Llanito is 4 miles from the city center, a town with Otomí roots that once belonged to the Hacienda de la Erre. Discover the Templo del Señor del Llanito, an 18th-century church where Señor San Salvador Consuelo de los Afligidos (Holy Savior Comfort of the Afflicted) is worshipped.

The domes and walls in the vestibule of its atrium are home to the remains of religious paintings, their creator was the artist of Spanish descent, Miguel Antonio Martínez de Pocasangre, the same artist who covered the walls inside the Santuario de Atotonilco with murals. Ask after the small community museum and its unique collection of votive offerings.
