Querétaro’s name comes from the Tarascan word Queréndaro which means “place of rocks” and is related to the abundance of pink quarry stone here. Its climate is generally dry and semi-dry; and its average annual temperature is 82°F. Its Magical Towns are Bernal, San Joaquín, Tequisquiapan, Cadereyta, Jalpan de Serra and Amealco. Its most populous cities are Querétaro and San Juan del Río. The capital’s historic center was included on the list of World Heritage Sites.
