Street Fest for Day of the Dead

El Pan de la Catrina, Fiestas de la Calle

From October 30th to November 2nd, Tecate is covered in cempasúchil (marigold) flowers, candles, paper banners and offerings to remember those who have passed. As Tecate is famous for its bakeries, the celebration couldn’t possibly take place without samples of pan de muerto, hot chocolate and sugar skulls. The celebration is accompanied by theater, dancing, storytellers, live music, altars, Mexican foods and many dressed as catrinas (skeletons) in the streets.
