Sea turtles that arrive on Isla Mujeres are protected and studied at this facility. During nesting season, turtle eggs incubating beneath the warm sands are protected until they hatch. Some are released into the ocean, and others are taken to pools where they are cared for until they reproduce. In the farm’s aquarium you can see different species and sizes of turtles, some over a foot and a half long.
