Clock Tower

Torre del Reloj Público

The southern end of the Plaza de Armas is reserved for the Public Clock Tower, which always attracts the eye from afar with its roof covered in colorful tiles. This is a narrow neo-gothic construction with a wooden door that makes you want to peek inside. At one point this tower functioned as a dungeon, and its old clock built with English weights was replaced with another during the Revolution.
