Venustiano Carranza Museum

This is the house in Cuatro Ciénegas where the revolutionary leader and president of the Republic was born.

A few minutes’ walk north of the Municipal Presidency, the Museo Venustiano Carranza is located in the house where the country’s first constitutional leader was born and spent his childhood.

The building, constructed in 1820, is interesting in and of itself due to being an excellent example of a nineteenth century house in the north of Mexico

You can observe the layout of the rooms around a central patio, its high ceilings (to keep the bedrooms cool) of wooden beams and its back patio/vegetable garden, which once looked out onto a stream.

It offers a very complete view of Carranza’s life, work and political actions, and has various personal objects on display, such as his clothes, photographs and documents.

The system of interactive screens is particularly entertaining for children, and make sure to notice the complete recreation of a kitchen from that era.

This is a fascinating place to visit, and will provide you with a very thorough overview of this central figure of the Mexican Revolution.
