San Pedro Apostol Church 

One of the main attractions of this Magical Neighborhood is the impressive Baroque façade of the church, built in the 18th century.

Main Plaza

This site is a favorite among residents as it is a place to gather and relax, especially on weekends. In its center, there is a kiosk where musicians and other artistic expressions are presented.

Museum of Sacred Art 

Opened in 2019, the museum exhibits pieces of folk art and religious ornaments to appreciate the historical memory of this community.

When to Visit

One of the best times to visit Mineral de la Luz is during its festivals when it receives more visitors. The main ones are the National Silver Fair in November and the Chamber Music Festival in July.

Although it is a destination with few services, you will find small places to satisfy your cravings. Café Lonche El Viejillo (La Galeana 3, Mineral de la Luz) serves various simple dishes, especially breakfasts, for a break during your visit. You will also find some street vendors with corn-based snacks to enjoy the local casual cuisine.

Where to Stay

Near Mineral de la Luz, you will find the Exhacienda Jesús María, home to the highest vineyard in Mexico, located at 2,400 meters above sea level. Camino de Vinos (Carretera Cristo Rey-Sangre de Cristo km 19) is a winery hotel ideal for an experience in the Magical Neighborhood and nearby attractions.

How to Get to Mineral de la Luz

From the city of Guanajuato, you need to drive approximately 40 minutes to reach the Magical Neighborhood. Take highway 110 towards Dolores Hidalgo and continue on Camino a Santa Ana. After 17 kilometers, take Allende, the last 850-meter stretch that will lead you to Mineral de la Luz.
