Mausoleum of José Alfredo Jiménez

Inside the municipal cemetery you will find the place where the remains of the “ambassador of Mexican ranchera music” lie. The mausoleum was built in 1998. His grave is a sombrero (traditional Mexican hat) and a rippling sarape (colorful woolen shawl) made of multi-colored mosaics.

Upon these tiles you can read the titles of his finest melodies, which serve as an epitaph.
