Posada Olayo House-Museum

Casa Museo Posada Olayo

Learn about the history and artwork of Dolores “Lolita” Posada, a famous woman in these parts.

This house-turned-museum holds a beautiful story of love and struggle with Lolita, a Tetelense poetess born in 1898, as the protagonist. Life was hardly easy for the poet, given the times in which she lived. The museum tells of her contributions and creations as well as the tales of work and womanly sacrifice she experienced. There’s a remarkable embroidery she made during her confinement: a Christ figure made with threads of silk and her own hair. Personal items, books, and portraits give testament to the way of life in that era and how a family of highland-dwelling artists lived.
