Xalpa Aqueduct

Acueducto de Xalpa

This early 17th-century aqueduct is located 18 miles from town. Construction of the Xalpa Aqueduct was ordered by Jesuit monks in order to bring water to the hacienda of the same name. It consists of 43 arches divided into four levels, each one 200 feet high.

You can see it from end to end, climb across hanging bridges, rent a horse at the ecotourism center, or bike, hike, and zipline. There are also places to eat, an environmental education center, and campgrounds.
