Aqueduct of Morelia
Morelia’s famous aqueduct appears on the 50-peso bill. Inspired by the Romans, it dates from the 18th century. It was built with limestone blocks and rises 26 feet into the air. In all, it spans 253 arches and is a mile long. The aqueduct is one of the few constructions that preserves its original structure.
