Explore its Old Haciendas
The Ex Hacienda de La Orduña (known today as the Ceiba Gráfica) has been dedicated, since the 18th century, to the production of sugarcane and then later to coffee, whilst it simultaneously produced citric fruits. Its facilities today include a library, a children’s education center, a print-making workshop, and spaces dedicated to cultural exhibitions.
The Ex Hacienda de Zimpizahua, once famous for its sugarcane and liquor production, is today a hotel and restaurant. One of the region’s still active large coffee plantations is the Hacienda El Trianón, which dates back to the year 1901. Its original furniture is still conserved, as well as curious works of art sculpted in forged iron.
