Swim in the Famous Cascadas de Agua Azul

A little further away, 40 miles south of Palenque, the Agua Azul waterfalls are one of the state’s most popular attractions. This natural wonder is formed by the Otulún, Shumuljá and Tulijá tributary rivers, creating an incredible spectacle. Its indigo-colored water and the sound it makes as it falls make this one of the most spectacular places in the entire country.

Visiting these waterfalls is a unique experience, but there is nothing like swimming in its incredible waters. Since it is tiered, natural pools form in which it is possible to plunge. If you want to experience something new, you can try rafting or diving. We also recommend hiking nearby, so you can take incredible photos of the river and its turquoise waters.
