Explore Your Artistic Side in the Casa de la Cultura

Casa de cultura-yuriria-guanajuato

The House of Culture is an ideal place for all those who have thought about exploring their artistic side in a hidden corner outside of the city, away from the hustle and bustle. In the midst of nature and serenity, this two-floor building offers the opportunity to put your skills to the test, in subjects ranging from music to painting. For the youngest, you will find classes in infant creativity, handicrafts, dance, folkloric and classic ballet. Don’t forget to visit the exhibition hall, where work by José Guadalupe Posada and Diego Rivera, as well as other local artists, has been presented.

Ask about the Los Gitanos (The Gypsies) parade, which is organized in collaboration with the municipal presidency. If you’re lucky, you’ll find the mojigangas (giant puppets) versions of Antón Trombón and María Patueca in their exhibition hall, the pair of rich landowners who parade the streets during the festivities.

This space has a small auditorium where presentations and live concerts take place.
