Walk Across Sand Dunes 

Prepare yourself for one of this country’s best landscapes and one of only three in the whole of America. When you see it, you won’t believe your eyes. 

What makes this place so unique is its white desert, made up of sand dunes as white as snow because they are composed of calcium sulfate. This is because when the water that once flooded the region evaporated, the heaviest minerals were left behind.  

The Dunas de Yeso (Plaster Dunes), known also as Los Arenales, form an awe-inspiring spectacle, because the ground reflects the glimmers of light from the sun which, combined with the blue sky, create an incredible panorama.
