Day of the Dead
This is one of the area’s most important celebrations, so much so that it has become world famous. For this reason, make sure to book lodgings for these dates several months in advance. The cemeteries in Pátzcuaro and the neighboring towns are filled with flowers and offerings, while candles are floated out onto the lake to represent the souls of the dead.
