Visit the indigenous communities of Sitilpech, Xanabá, Kimbilá, and Cuauhtémoc, where you can see families knotting hammocks and creating other kinds of handicrafts. The fabulous natural cenote pools Sahuncat in Homún, Cuzamá and Dzitnup are close by. You can also stop by the Ex Convento de San Juan Bautista in Motul. This former Convent of Saint John the Baptist was built in the 16th century by Franciscan friars. Another former convent and church is Templo y Ex Convento de San Miguel Arcángel in Temax, these dedicated to Saint Michael.
