Probably one of the most popular spots in Real del Monte is Pastes El Portal, a business run by Ciro Peralta. He is proud to be the only one still using the original recipe to make his potato and beef pies. Almost 10 years ago, he went to England to learn the traditional way to make them. It is a tiny spot, but cozy with its walls and display cases covered with objects relating to the town.
