Savor Tacámbaro’s Culinary Delights
This is one of the best spots in the state to eat. The crispy pork carnitas are excellent—Rey Tacamba’s are famous. Other can’t-miss dishes: aporreadillo (eggs scrambled with partially-dried meat), ox tail, trout, and steamed tacos. Hotel El Molino’s chili peppers, as well as its avocado omelet, are legendary. A dish blending traditional and modern is the carnitas pizza in Burger Lunch. If you are in Pedernales, look for Doña Bruna and try her bolas de masa, small corn dumplings filled with beans, cheese, and dried beef.
