Admire the Danza de los Viejitos

Picturesquely known as the dance of the little old men, this is a traditional dance in Michoacán. The masks used in the dance are famous around the country. They are made to appear like an old Spaniard, and the dance starts with a few shaky, faltering steps… and suddenly the dancers start to stomp their feet and energetically hop to the beat of the music. On Sundays, you can see groups of dancers in the squares of Morelia and Pátzcuaro.
